FAQ: Student-Athletes

  • When does registration open?

    League and race registration open on December 1, 2024.

  • When does LEAGUE registration close?

    Registration closes when a team meets their maximum number of athletes for the season. Athletes can join the league part-way through the season if they choose. Athletes who want a customized number plate need to register by April 15, 2025. 

  • When does RACE registration close?

    To be staged in accordance with NEYC’s staging policies, athletes must register online by 9pm on the Wednesday before each race. Athletes can register late online by 9pm on the Friday before each race, and will be staged at the back of their race category. Day-of registration is permitted up until 90 minutes before the race start; day-of registration includes a $20 late fee and athletes will be staged at the back of their race category.

  • What team should I register for?

    Use the Team Finder Tool to locate the team that covers your zip code. If there’s not a team in your area, contact info@newenglandyouthcycling.com to learn what options are available for you to participate with us!

  • What if there is no team in my area?

    If your zip code is outside of all existing team regions, you can race for the NEYC “League Team” called “The Nomads” for one season only. NEYC may choose to assign a rider to a nearby existing team, if appropriate. 

  • How do I register my student athlete with NEYC?

    1. Request your team Pass Code from the Head Coach or Team Manager. Here is a list of all current teams with contact information: OUR TEAMS
    2. Go to the Registration Page and select your team from the drop down menu next to the “STUDENT ATHLETES” section. Click “Register”. 
    3. Carefully read any information provided on your team page and click “Join Team” to proceed. Enter the team Pass Code. For new student athletes, select “Create an Account” button and create a CCN account for yourself (the parent/guardian). You will add your student athlete’s information to create their profile during the registration process. For returning student athletes, log into your existing CCN account. Make sure this account is the same CCN account you used to register your student athlete for 2024. If you’re unsure of what email you used for the account, please contact info@newenglandyouthcycling.com and ask!

  • How do I register my student athlete for NEYC races?

    Student athletes can register for the full race series for $210 (6 races) or for individual races for $40 each. These fees are separate from your NEYC registration fee. Register for races by:

    1. Adding the Race Series, or individual races, to your CCN cart at the end of the student athlete registration process. This allows you to process all fees in a single transaction.
    2. Selecting “Register for Races” from the Student-Athlete section of the NEYC Registration page. Student-athletes must first be registered with NEYC to use this link: REGISTRATION PAGE
  • What if my team is full?

    If registration has hit maximum capacity for a team, you can register for the waitlist and contact the team manager using the team’s email address. Email info@newenglandyouthcycling.com to let us know you’re interested in racing! We will work together to figure out how to get you riding in the league!


  • I have a returning student-athlete, how do I make sure their information transfers from last year?

    Student-athlete information is carried over from year-to-year through their CCN profile. If information is missing or incorrect, please email info@newenglandyouthcycling.com because your student-athlete might have a duplicate profile to merge. 


  • Does my student-athlete get USA Cycling points for racing in NEYC races?

    NEYC does submit race results to USA Cycling (USAC) for points scoring. You MUST enter your student-athlete’s USAC ID (6-digit number) when registering them for NEYC. 

  • How can I confirm student-athlete registration with NEYC?

    There are two easy ways to confirm your student-athlete registration:

    1. Through email. You should receive a confirmation receipt; additionally, you or your student-athlete will receive a NEYC membership email. If you didn’t receive these and confirmed your registration below, please check your Spam folder and add “info@ccnbikes.com” to your contact list.
    2. Through the “Search Athlete Status” button on the NEYC Registration page. If the athlete's status says “Issued,” then you’ve successfully completed their registration.
  • How can I confirm my student-athlete’s race registration?

    There are two ways to check/verify race registrations:

    1. Check your email for a race registration receipt from info@ccnbikes.com
    2. View your student-athlete’s registrations on their CCN Profile. To do this, log into your CCN Account and click the “Event Registrations” button on the left navigation bar. Select the name of the student-athlete whose race registrations you want to verify. Log In to CCN Account

    Make sure the email receipt and event registration(s) are for the current season. It’s possible you may pull up an email from a prior season.


  • Does NEYC offer financial aid or assistance?

    NEYC offers limited financial assistance for families who demonstrate need. Complete the 2025 financial aid application here: 2025 Financial Assistance Application

FAQ: COACHES

  • How do I register as a coach?

    1. Request your team Pass Code from the Head Coach or Team Manager. Here is a list of all current teams with contact information: OUR TEAMS
    2. Go to the NEYC Registration Page and select your team from the drop down menu next to the “COACHES” section. Click “Register”. 
    3. Carefully read any information provided on your team page and click “Join Team” to proceed. Enter the team Pass Code.  For NEW COACHES, select “Create an Account” button and create a CCN account. For RETURNING COACHES, log into your existing CCN account. Make sure this account is the same CCN account you used to register for 2024. If you’re unsure of what email you used for the account, please contact info@newenglandyouthcycling.com and ask!
    4.  Proceed with coach registration and follow the prompts. CCN has created a step-by-step tutorial on the process if you need further assistance: REGISTRATION TUTORIAL
  • How do I confirm my coach registration with NEYC?

    You should receive a confirmation receipt in your email. Additionally, you should receive an email with instructions on how to complete your Sterling Volunteers background check. 

  • How do I complete my background check?

    Once you complete your registration, you should receive an email from info@ccnbikes.com with a link to order your background check through Sterling Volunteers. You must use this unique link to order your background check. If you did not receive an email you can check your spam folder or login to your CCN Membership Profile to retrieve your unique link.

    1. Click on the red “Action Needed” button that corresponds to your Level 1 license.
    2. Click the “How to Complete” link that corresponds to your Background Check.
    3. Follow the link and order your background check through Sterling Volunteers.

  • Coach Licensing: How do I view my current NEYC coach license status?

    You can check your license status by using the “Search Coach Status” button on the NEYC Registration Page. If you have a license issued, it will say “Issued” in green. If your “Level 1” status is “Pending Requirements,” you need to finish your requirements before you can attend team practice.

  • Coach Licensing: How do I complete my pending requirements?

    Once you complete NEYC coach registration, log into your CCN account to view your next steps. [Click Here to Login]. CCN has a step-by-step tutorial on how to view your missing license requirements once you are logged into CCN. Note that NEYC has its own unique instructions on “How to Complete” each requirement.   • Coach Licensing: How do I upload requirements into CCN?

    • Start by logging into your CCN account and navigating to your membership profile. CCN Login
    • Click the “How to Complete” button that corresponds to the missing requirement.
    • Note that the upload process looks similar to an event registration process, and you will be required to “Checkout” to finish the submission.

FAQ: TEAMS

  • How often do teams hold practice?

    Each team is different and the practice schedule depends on the time of year and coach availability. Most teams practice 3 days per week (e.g., 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day)

  • Where do teams practice?

    Some teams practice in the same / similar areas each week while others practice on different trails each week. Contact your Head Coach or Team Manager to learn more about practice locations.
